| Summary: | The rationale of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of using animation in teaching idioms for vocabulary learning for fonn four students in SMK Kuala Penyu, Sabah. The research employs action research method. The main objective of this research is to see the effectiveness of using animation in teaching idioms. The research was conducted in three different cycles until the problem is solved. Each cycle assisted with different supplementations which are; English subtitle, translation into participants' LJ subtitle and drilling and presentation. The selected samples were tested through written and spoken test in eve,y cycle to see and measure their progress. The analysis results indicate that the integration of the use of animation and the three cycles which are English subtitle, translation into participants' ll subtitle and drilling and presentation is indeed an excellent approach of overcoming the barriers faced by the students in learning idioms and vocabula,y learning. The feedback of this study proves that the application of the three cycles has not only increased the students' understanding but also had managed to simplify the teacher's role in teaching and learning process. |
