The success of Iskandar Malaysia shall not only be measured by just a numbers game but rather through alleviating the level of well-being, ability to address fair and equitable distribution of wealth among the residents. To ensure a maximum outcome resulted from the usage of public fund and resources, this study act as an added value and must be supported with a strategic measurement and performance indicator originating from the residents’ aspiration and expectation. A qualitative research with a period of two months was conducted from 23rd February till 30th April 2021 involving a total of 2,500 respondents to unleash the most important dimension among the twelve dimensions listed from the residents’ perception and aspiration. It is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the outcome from this study which will reveal the actual weightage assigned for each dimension and ultimately to access changes in well-being index for Iskandar Malaysia by using the actual weightage. The analysis reveals that income and economic distribution, housing and health are among the top three dimension and components rated with the highest weightage as compared with the other nine components. The results of the analysis suggest that income and economic distribution have been assigned the actual weightage with a value of 1, while housing is represented with a value of 0.92 and health is represented with a value of 0.83. Through the analysis of existing literature and information based on previous trend and pattern, it can beconcluded that with the adaptation of actual weightage, the Iskandar Malaysia wellbeing index is now serves as a reality check reflected through participatory approach and is dynamically evolve in accordance with the aspiration and expectation of thenresidents.
