description Teachers played an important role in ensuring the quality of education in a country. Therefore, excellent and qualified teachers were needed in the education system to improve the standard of teaching and learning. To ensure the successful transformation of the education system, schools need quality teachers that are able to provide impact to the effectiveness of a school. However, the situation in Indonesia found that there were obligations to nurture high quality teachers due to workload. This is because the ratio of teachers to students for state schools is double compared to the ratio of teachers to students for private schools. Therefore, this study aims to identify the level of quality of SMP Negeri teachers based on the variables of education, training, personality and job design in Kabupaten Bekasi, Indonesia. This study used a quantitative approach (questionnaire) and the respondents consisted of 297 teachers and then the data was analyzed using PLS-SEM analysis. The study found that education, training, personality and job design have a positive relationship and a significant effect on teachers’ quality. Theoretically, this study contributed to the use of Corey's Self-Concept Theory in studying the context of education, training, personality and job design in enhancing the teachers’ quality in Indonesia. From a practical point of view, this study found that important aspects such as education, training, personality and job design should be given attention and able to provide a clearer and more comprehensive picture in helping the Indonesian government's efforts to improve the quality of teachers throughout Indonesia.
