| description | This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between the main aspects of safety climate on safety performance in the manufacturing industry with reference to DK Leather Seats Sdn. Bhd. Safety climate plays a highly significant role in shaping employees’ attitudes and behaviors toward workplace safety, making it crucial area of study for industries aiming to improve overall safety outcomes. It encompasses the shared perceptions of safety practices, policies and priorities within an organization. The purpose of this study was to investigate the impacts of all the following variables; management commitment, safety rules and procedures, safety training and safety communication on safety performance in the organisation. The survey methodology applied in this study approaches the quantitative used in this study and the data analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 27.0. The findings of the study indicated that management commitment, safety rules and procedures and safety training had a positive correlation with safety performance; therefore, it was suggested that they needed to be developed to support better safety performance. However, the study revealed that safety communication factor as having a lesser relationship with the safety performance, which could be interpreted to mean that there are potential gaps in the existing communication methods. Furthermore, the multiple regression analysis validated that all the independent variables combined have a jointly significant effect on the safety performance. Consequently, the findings from this research underscore the significance of the management role in enhancing optimal safety performances; manufacturing sector may use this information from this study to develop appropriate strategies towards enhancing occupational safety and health |
