description This study aimed to investigate the level of job satisfaction and occupational hazards at Department of Pathology, Hospital Kuala Lumpur. It also investigated the differences on job satisfaction based on demographics criteria namely; gender, marital status, age, job category, length of service, academic qualification and salary. This study also attempted to establish the relationship between job satisfaction and occupational hazards specifically chemical, biological, physical, ergonomic and psychosocial hazard and also wanted to know whether occupational hazards influence significantly on job satisfaction. Quantitative method was used, where 235 set of questionnaires were distributed and the response was 76 % where 179 questionnaires were returned and could be tabulated for the study. Data obtained was analyzed using the SPSS software. It was tested using the reliability test for the questionnaires and for the descriptive analysis in order to get the frequency, percentages and means, t-test and ANOVA were used to find the differences in means based on the demographic criteria, correlation analysis to determine the strength of relationship between job satisfaction and occupational hazard and regression analysis to determine whether occupational hazards influence significantly on job satisfaction. The findings showed that job satisfaction and occupational hazard were at moderate level and there was no significant means differences in job satisfaction based on demographic criteria. However, there was a significant moderate negative relationship between job satisfaction and occupational hazards and job satisfaction was found to be influenced significantly by chemical, ergonomic and psychosocial hazard. It is hoped that the findings of the study could assist the management in its efforts to increase job satisfaction and work safety among the staff so that a harmonious working environment could develop and hence increase the productivity of the organization.
