| Summary: | The purpose of this study is to show the relationship between attitude and the “fear” level towards using computers among the workers, the difference between attitude and the “fear” level towards computers based on variables like experience using computers, ownership of personal computers at home and demographic factors like sex, age, service grade and years of service. A questionnaire comprising of 39 Likert scale items was
constructed as the research instrument. A total of 88 respondents among the officers and staff of Lembaga Ikan Kemajuan Malaysia (LKIM) were selected to participate in this study. Results from this study showed that all the officers and staff of LKIM possessed positive and none experienced any “fear” level towards computers, i.e. 78.4% experienced a medium “fear” level while 21.6% experienced a low “fear” level. The results also showed a negative significant correlation between attitude and the “fear” level towards using computers whereas there was no attitudinal difference towards the use of computers
based on the variables tested. However, the results also showed that there was a significant difference towards the “fear” level against ownership of personal computers at home whereas there was no significant difference if measured against the following variables: experience, sex, age, service grade and years of service. |
