Description
Résumé:The purpose of this study is to examine the factors influencing Islamic unit trust investment decision making among low-income households in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The method used in this study is purposive sampling. It is intended to measure the influence of Islamic financial literacy, religiosity and product knowledge towards Islamic unit trust investment decision making. Besides, this study also investigates the relationships with all the factors mentioned earlier. A proposed theoretical framework has been developed in order to illustrate the study. The results revealed that the degree of Islamic unit trust investment decision-making among respondents is high. In addition, a significant difference in Islamic unit trust investment decision-making is found between the respondents according to their age groups. Meanwhile, there are no significant differences between gender and educational level groups towards Islamic unit trust investment decision-making. Additionally, the result suggests that there is a significant and positive influence between two factors; Islamic financial literacy and product knowledge towards Islamic unit trust investment decision-making. Meanwhile, religiosity factor does not influence the Islamic unit trust investment decision-making. Consequently, the results of this study are hoping to be useful to industry, community, Islamic fund management companies, government, and academics by adopting new ideas to attract more investors in this investment vehicle. Lastly, this study is considered as one of the studies that have contributed to the literature by understanding the determinants of affecting Muslim investors to invest in Islamic unit trust. Indeed, more research related to this study is suggested to be conducted for future research.
