| Summary: | Maqasid syariah plays a vital role in ensuring the preaching of Islam a success. It enable a da'i to get to know his target group plan the correct methodology and strategy that is related to their nature and to know their level of religious knowledge. Maqasid syariah is gaining traction in today's da'wah thinking, and Dr. Yusuf al-Qaradawi is one of the prominent scholars who puts emphasis on the dimension of maqasid in da'wah, fatwa (religious decree) and Islamic thought in general. He has introduced a complete approach in the preaching of Islam. The approach that is based on the contemporary of Islamic Jurisprudence methodology helps in the preaching of Islam individually or in groups. It can also strengthen the relationship among preachers in order to avoid the conflict among them which can disrupt the objectives of da'wah. The purpose of the research is to analyze how al-Qaradawi applies maqasid in passing the syari'ah's legal rules and determining the preaching approach. The research uses descriptive approach as well as induction in analyzing the reference books related to maqasid through the thinking of al-Qaradawi. That particular approach can be used to analyze the work oa al-Qaradawi and his methodology related to da'wah. It also looks into his thinking to gather Muslim reformist scholars and the contemporary Islamic movement. The research found that al- Qardawi's methodology of maqasid plays a vital role in passing fatwa and determining the approach in the preaching of Islam such as putting priority in the syari'ah's legal rules and Islamic da'wah and taking into consideration the balancing between those two aspects, understanding of current reality, commitment towards the concept of wasatiyyah, making judgment of the syari'ah's legal rules,and differentiation between various approach in accordance with fixed maqasid.,Certification of Master's/Doctoral Thesis" is not available
