Reka bentuk penyelidikan adalah kuantitatif menggunakan instrumen kajian soal selidik terdiri daripada 5 bahagian. Bahagian A merupakan soal selidik yang menganalisis data berkaitan dengan latar belakang responden , bahagian B mengukur perapatan daripada Inventory Of Parent and Peer, Armsderm dan Greenberg, (2009), bahagian C mengukur tahap autonomi daripada inventori Index of Autonomous Functioning, Weinstein (2012), bahagian D mengukur strategi regulasi emosi daripada Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) ,Gross, dan John, (2007) , manakala bahagian E mengukur resiliensi daripada The Brief Reselience Scale (Smith, et.al ,2008) yang diterjemah secara perterjemahan berbalik daripada Bahasa inggersi ke Bahasa Melayu dan Bahasa Melayu ke Bahasa Inggeris. Kesahan soal selidik kajian adalah tinggi iaitu .907 , manakala nilai kebolehpercayaan adalah tinggi dan konsisten dengan nilai alfa cronbach,_ ialah .909. Pensampelan kajian adalah seramai n=285 orang pelajar yang telah dipilih sebagai responden dengan menggunakan teknik pensampelan rawak. Hipotesis-hipotesis kajian diuji pada aras keyakinan p<0.05. Secara keseluruhan, analisis ujian-t tidak bersandar menunjukkan bahawa faktor jantina tidak menyumbang secara signifikan kepada gaya perapatan ( p=0.149); autonomi (p=0.537); regulasi emosi (p=0.720) dan resiliensi (p=0.053). Sementara itu, ujian-t tidak bersandar juga menunjukkan bahawa keluarga dengan ibu bapa sama ada bercerai atau tidak bercerai mempunyai perbezaan signifikan terhadap gaya perapatan (p=0.00); autonomi (p=0.00) ; regulasi emosi (p=0.00) dan resiliensi (p=0.00). Manakala itu, ujian ANOVA sehala menunjukkan bahawa status sosioekonomi keluarga menunjukkan perbezaan yang signifikan dalam gaya perapatan (p=0.000); autonomi (p=0.00), regulasi emosi (p=0.000) dan resiliensi (p=0.00). Di samping itu, ujian regresi pelbagai menunjukkan gaya Gaya perapatan bimbang rmempunyai pengaruh yang lebih besar terhadap autonomi berbanding perapatan bimbang terhadap autonomi (r2=.949); regulasi emosi (r2=0.531) dan resiliensi (r2=.950) di mana perapatan selamat sebagai pembolehubah konstan. Manakala, perapatan mengelak mempunyai pengaruh yang rendah terhadap autonomi (r2=0.005); regulasi emosi (r2=0.459) dan resiliensi (r2=0.05). Kesimpulannya, kajian ini memberikan gambaran kepada kepentingan kepada banyak pihak untuk membangunkan institusi keluarga dengan perapatan selamat kepada usaha pembentukkan keperibadian anak-anak yang trampil.
