In order to determine the spatial relationships of the objects, one or more existing photographs were analyzed using photogrammetric software. For this study, a strip of aerial photograph of UTM year 2005 is used. The aerial photographs were processed to produce useful and informative final product such as digital orthophoto, digital elevation model (DEM) and mosaic. Orthorectification or also known as differential rectification is the process of using a rigorous math model and a digital elevation model (DEM) to correct distortions in raw images. In order to produce orthophoto, several ground control points are needed. For this study there are 24 GCPs distributed throughout the aerial photos. Besides the GCPs, there are also 21 check points (CPs). These GCPs and CPs were established using rapid static technique with accuracy of each point is less than 10cm. In this study, PCI Geomatica software is used. Using PCI Geomatica OrthoEngine, orthophoto is generated. The generated individual orthophoto was then processed to form a mosaic of orthophoto. The resulting orthophoto were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The orthophoto were analyzed quantitatively based on RMSE method. The results showed that the planimetric accuracy of the orthophoto is ±0.437m. For qualitative analysis, some buildings digitized and superimposed with their respective AutoCAD file which is obtained from ground surveying method. The results showed that the buildings for both methods coincide very close to one another. As conclusion, the orthophoto was successfully generated using the PCI Geomatica software with good accuracy and quality zulaihi UTM 73 p.
