There is too much Astronomy calculation should be done in the preparation of the Rukyah data. So there are numerous software has been developed to help facilitate the Astronomy calculation in accordance with the developments in ICT. But there are many constraints to use the software in easy way. As we know that not all the users have the understanding to use the advance software easily because it depends on the user needs. Therefore, this project was done to develop an easy programme for the preparation of moon sighting data using Microsoft Excel 2007 known as I-Rukyah Ver1.0. The data generated from I-Rukyah was verified by comparing data from other sources. The output data generated by I-Rukyah are azimuth and altitude of moon and sun and the arc length. The output data was compared with Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia and e-Rukyah program published by Jabatan Ukur dan Pemetaan Malaysia. Based on the comparison, it was found that the differences of output data between the I-Rukyah, JAKIM and e-Rukyah programme were about 1" to 16" only. The accuracy of the generated output data is important because it involves the worship time of Islam such as the determination of the beginning of Ramadan, Shawal, Zulhijjah and the production of the Islamic calendar zulaihi UTM 69 p.
