Ariff, supervisor Geoinformation and real estate Also available in printed version Stereo mapping through close range photogrammetry is widely utilized for measuring and generating accurate three dimensional (3D) models. The basic idea of stereo mapping is to visual realistic photo from overlapping multiple photos. The process becomes more complicated as the user need to capture extra photos using a second sensor mounted on the same stereo rig. Furthermore, during camera calibration, all the sensors used need to be calibrated. This makes the process of calibration become slower. Fujifilm Real 3D camera (two lenses) is a new approaches sensor in photogrammetry. This camera is capable producing 3D digital image taken simultaneously in one click. The purpose of this paper is to study the capability and performance of Fujifilm Real 3D for stereo mapping application as well as evaluate the accuracy of measurement and quality of 3D model produced. Four models have been produced by using 2D stereo mode and 3D stereo mode where each of the modes consists of left and right image. Afterwards, the accuracy given by each mode was compared with the results from Nikon 1 J1 digital camera (10 megapixels) and total station. At the end of this study, it was found that the FUJIFILM 3D Real camera gave the best accuracy of the measurement results with ± 0.0031 mm accuracy for simple object and ± 1.60 cm for detailed object such as a building zulaihi UTM 89 p.
