Sharhan Shukor Abdul Kadir Marsono, supervisor Wind-pressure Buildings--Aerodynamics Also available in printed version : TA654.5 M73 2006 raf It been a convention that high rise structure has been build inmetropolitans city all around the world, but they still have few frailtyinside the structural frame system for high rise building, especially whenit come to resist deformation and displacement resultant from theintroduction of lateral load to the structure. This research has been doneto get the most effective shapes for high rise building to resist lateralforce resulting from wind loads. Analysis being carried out to comparevalue of the displacement for four of the high rise build plan that has beenstipulate, namely Moment Resistance Structural System, Belt TrussStructural System, Enhance Belt Truss Structural System, and lastlyOutrigger Structural System. It has been discovered from the research thatthe use of bracing giving a huge impact in reducing displacement thatoccur in high rise structure. Structure analysis with software usingstiffness method indicate that, the use of Outrigger Structural System isthe best solution between the model to resist deformations when structuresubjected to lateral loads. The entire study, shows that the result arecoincide with the early hypothesis from the literature review, saying thatthe Outrigger Structural System that connect the truss system on outsideedge of the building with the core wall inside, giving the most effectiveways to support the lateral load. idham UTM 118 p.
