Rasid, supervisor Civil engineering Also available in printed version Project X is one of the infrastructure projects that was budgeted for approximately RM 260b for infrastructure development of the Eleventh Malaysia Plan 2015. The Project X was launched in early 2015 with the Government main objective to connect the rural areas to the cities that will eventually cater the traffic congestion in Klang Valley. Project X has been executed based on Project Delivery Partner (PDP) model after the successful of mega project Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) which successful completed based on PDP model as benchmarking. However, recently Government has announced due to budget constraint Project X will be continued based on Turnkey model. By changing that model, it is anticipated significant impact to the entire Project X. This study intends to identify the impact due to the model change and it focused on Pre-contract administration stage only. To obtain the result on the significant impact it is has been justified through interview session with parties directly involve with this project. The qualitative method uses as approach to the study. The analysis and finding to this study have been discussed in Chapter 4 of this study. The discussion derived based on three main objectives of this study. Respondent agreed that, changing the model it was led to the significant impact to role and responsibilities of all parties involved in the Project X. The impact also has been discussed through the challenges faced by the all parties on pre-contract administration stage. Several challenged encountered and has been discussed extensively. It is significant impact to the establishment of new contract agreement due to the changes. Respondent found out, the contractual agreement is very important and need to be firm before the project can be continued at agreed fixed price contract and new completion date of the Project. Therefore, this study which focused on pre-contract administration will be benefit to the future study to whom who interested to study and apply it for Infrastructure project. zulaihi UTM 112 p.
