Therefore, this study aims to examine the performance of lunge practice among Johor fencing athletes before and after undergoing a three-week power training intervention. A total of six Johor fencing athletes aged between 14 and 17 years old were selected as subjects in this study. The test used is the lunge test, where the subject is required to reach the lunge on the jumping mat as far as possible. There are two tests namely the pre and post and each test there are two attempts and the best score will be taken. The data obtained was analyzed using the Paired T-Test at a significant value of p<0.05 through the Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS). The results of the study found that there was a significant difference in the tests conducted and the t-value was -7.857, while the value of p=0.039 (p<0.05) and this showed that the null hypothesis was rejected. In conclusion, the three-week training program showed a significant difference in lunge performance. This is likely due to the effectiveness in terms of training implementation and the diversification of training programme patterns, which makes it significant. This shows that the three-week training intervention carried out is sufficient to increase the strength of the lower limbs of the sports athletes against the sword. Therefore, training in terms of power components should be emphasized by the fencing coach to improve the performance of lunge actions so that it is easier to win a match.
