In this scenario, meet the sufficient power between generation and distribution became difficult because of the continuously changing in load demand. Therefore, it will affect the stability of the frequency in grid system network. This project discusses about the frequency regulation by the application of the battery energy storage system (BESS). The objective for this project was to design, develop, and analyses the performance of the frequency regulation applications with proposed BESS application. Lithium ion battery was the focus point in this study as the medium to supply electricity charge when the frequency system drop lower than 50Hz and store electricity charge when the frequency system is higher than 50Hz. The proposed battery storage system with grid system network and the analysis of it performance for frequency regulation was designed using MATLAB/Simulink. The results for proposed battery as a storage medium to mitigate frequency fluctuation is succeed and applicable for frequency regulation. From the simulation, the result was obtained and analysed in three cases which are the balanced grid system, unbalanced grid system and unbalanced grid system connected with Li-ion battery fahmimoksen UTM 56 p.
