Rasli, supervisor Management Also available in printed version The Path-Goal Theory is strongly referred to as one of the main organizational subjects of leadership styles in human resource literature. Many of these studies using the theory have focused on Western leadership styles, but only a few studies have been conducted in Saudi Arabia. Thus, the main purpose of this research paper is to investigate the moderating effects of task structure on the relationship between leadership styles and job satisfaction, as well as performance and turnover intention in Saudi Arabia. The quantitative research method was employed and a survey using self-administered questionnaires was carried out at the Saudi Telecom Company. From the statistical analysis, the findings revealed that that the levels of directive, participative and achievement-oriented leadership styles were high as compared to the supportive leadership style which was low. Furthermore, it was found that the subordinates’ levels of job satisfaction, job performance and turnover intention were fairly high. The results showed that intrinsic and extrinsic satisfactions were influenced by participative leadership, while the achievement oriented style affected intrinsic satisfaction. Similarly, participative leadership had a significant relationship with job performance and turnover intention, whereas achievement oriented leadership significantly influenced turnover intention. In addition, the task structure level appeared to be relatively high whereas, the structure itself had significant moderating effects on the influence of directive leadership style on job satisfaction. Furthermore, the task structure had significant moderating effects on the influence of supportive leadership style on job satisfaction and job performance. This research has identified the determinants of increasing job satisfaction and job performance while declining turnover intention. Generally, some of the results of the study confirmed the Path-Goal Theory, though there were results which were different due to the location of the research zulaihi UTM 366 p.
