Ali Norhisham Bakhary, supervisor Civil engineering Also available in printed version This paper presents the analysis of dynamic properties based on the free vibration of a sandwich beam. A finite element modelling of a sandwich beam is developed using ABAQUS CAE. This study investigated the effect of several main parameters of the sandwich beam to the changes of dynamic property. It involved a series of parametric study which includes the effect of core thickness, the number of fiber layers, ratio of core thickness and the orientation of fiber to the changes of natural frequency. The natural frequency of each models are obtained and computed by the first mode of analysis. The result shows that these parameters provide significant changes in natural frequency of the beam zulaihi UTM 75 p.
