Mallek Aziruddin Ressang, supervisor Civil engineering Also available in printed version Variation orders are something common in a construction project. However, it should be avoided. This is because when there is a variation order occurs; time, cost and quality need to be maintained. Like to domino effects, it is very sensitive especially for projects involving public fund. In this study, it stated that the causes contribute to the variation order. The root causes of variation order come from the owner, the consultant and the authorities need to be taken into account and are not regarded as silent. Every causes are definitely has a factor that contributes to the direction of variation order. It is also noted that the factor caused by owner, consultant and the authorities. This shows every causes of variation order factor can be attributed by combination of the owner, the consultant and the authorities. Each matter must have solution. In this study report, it is also suggested to address the mitigation variation order from occurring. It is based on the finding the causes and factor affecting of variation order in this study. As the results, it is hoped of this study will be reference in the future zulaihi UTM 77 p.
