Amadzun Shafishuhaza Sahlan, supervisor Electrical Engineering Also available in printed version In this project, a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactors (CSTR) process is implemented. CSTR is a part of industry process where pH neutralization occurs. Due to the highly nonlinear system of pH neutralization process, the system is difficult to control. The purpose of this study is to reduce the order of pH neutralization system. The transfer function of CSTR system is obtained from the identification toolbox in MATLAB. Then, the author focuses on Model Order Reduction (MOR) technique of Impulse Response Gramian (IRG) introduced by Agathoklis and Sreeram. The MOR technique can reduce the order of the highly nonlinear system of pH neutralization process while retaining the characteristics of the system using MATLAB. An MOR algorithm is developed and presented in a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to represent the model system of pH neutralization process. A reduced order model and error which is less than 10th are obtained atiff UTM 56 p.
