Plastic defect are common issues on plastics injection moulding process and it might cause the plastics part failure since the fitting surface flatness over the specification. Most of the researcher have been performed analysis to optimize the injection moulding process by studied the mold feature, process parameter, design geometry, and machine parameters but optimization of this process for material part is limited (Khan and Acharya, 2016). Further study of different types of transparent plastics materials is required to determine the best plastic performance with less plastic defect by using Finite Element Analysis tools to prevent the occurrence of failure in the plastic material during design phase. This paper presents a simulation study of different types of transparent plastics materials to analysed injection molding process through moldflow simulation analysis and also to prevent the occurrence of failure in the plastic material by using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) during design phase. A few experiments have been performed using Autodesk Moldflow Insight (AMI) to simulate plastic defect resulted on small transparent spiral component by using difference type of transparent plastic materials such as Polycarbonate (PC), poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), Plasticized (Flexible) Polyvinyl Chloride(PVC-P), and Polyethylene Terephthalate Glyco (PET-G) plastic. Results of the Autodesk moldflow simulations indicated that PMMA is the best plastic alternative material that suitable for this study case project zulaihi UTM 93 p.
