Halim, supervisor Built environment Also available in printed version The tourism sector has been an important contribution to the national economy the kampungstay and home visit programme which were categorized in homestay concept is one of the rural tourism product within the tourism industry that seen to have a great potential. Kampungstay and home visit programme offers the tourist with the varieties of accommodation types besides staying with the host and local community and most important thing is being able to experience the local lifestyle and culture of the community. Therefore this study will attempt to evaluate the level of satisfaction and experience among international tourist in relation to kampungstay and home visit programme in Kampong Parit Penghulu, Sungai Rambai, Melaka. The focus of the study is on the quality of experience and the level of tourist satisfaction with addition at the form, concept, theory and the role of the kampungstay and home visit practiced by Malaysia in tourism context. Kampungstay and home visit sector in Malaysia has been changed from their own originality homestay based on several tourists’ demand factors. Quantitative data will be obtained through questionnaire. The questionnaires are designed based on the need to analyze the gap between tourist expectation and level of satisfaction and will be presented by using SERVQUAL technique. This technique is needed to determine the quality of services and perception by using several dimensions. Overall result, the findings shown the kampungstay and home visit programme in Kampung Parit Penghulu satisfied the tourist but there are several aspects need to improve such as the facilities provided on hygiene. As a conclusion, the weaknesses kampungstay and home visit programme need to be revealed in actions to improve the quality of experience and level of satisfaction among tourist in order to frame the future development of kampungstay and home visit programme in Malaysia based on tourist demand snhas UTM 98 p.
