Because of growing interest in using space under and above surface, it seems that 2D geospatial database will face problems to handle the information. The 2D geospatial database has limitation in represent the space of the real world. For example, in 2D geospatial database, we cannot derive the height of the room, without the height, it is nearly impossible to calculate the volume of the space in a room. The height and volume are important information because it can fits the information to asset management The aim of this research was to develop the 3D geospatial database for space location in facility management. In order to achieve the purpose of this research, three objectives have been listed; to review the existing of space management approach and current practice used, to develop the 3D geospatial database in space management which can store, display and query the information of each building space and to validate the application of the 3D geospatial database that have been develop. The current facility management and 2D space management approach have been review in this research. The existing problems in the 2D space management were identified and the needs of 3D database in space management were develop to overcome the problems. The databases are design and develop for the location and properties of each room. The floor plans of the building were digitized and the 3D models of the building were display in ArcScene. These 3D geospatial databases also help in handling asset management because it provides information for asset management maintenance. For example, the installation of air-conditioner needs the information of height and volume in order to ensure the efficiency of the air-cond. There are needs to develop 3D geospatial database for space in facility management to overcome the lack in 2D database. fazli UTM 75 p.
