Nowadays, with the growth of population and market demand of mobile cellphones and smartphones, location based services (LBS) become an essential to the mobile application. People tends to depend on accurate location information in their personal, social or business life, especially in their mobile lifestyle. There are several different technologies or modes of location positioning that implemented or embedded into mobile devices. Each technology or mode has their own advantages and drawbacks in term of accuracy. In this research, these technologies or modes were studied and field experiments are carried out to determine and identify the difference of accuracy between modes and which technology is the most suitable use in mobile application. From the findings of this research, mobile device designers and application developers are provided with the empirical analysis and data to help them decide to use or implement which modes of location positioning in their mobile applications. Consequently, end users can benefit from the accurate location information that they obtained by using those applications fahmimoksen UTM 83 p.
