Shahrizal Sunar, supervisor Civil Engineering Also available in printed version Augmented Reality (AR) is a combination of real and virtual objects that partially merged in a single domain. Unlike virtual reality (VR), where the user is fully immersed in a virtual environment, AR allows the user to interact with the virtual images using real objects in a seamless way. Tracking techniques in AR need to be robust as possible to be accepted by user. Therefore, this project was proposed to develop an application that enabled multiple three dimensional (3D) object tracking in AR environment. In addition, simple user interaction is added to the prototype to make it interactive. The issues to be addressed are the tracking inaccuracy and occlusion problems for multiple 3D object in AR environment. Therefore, an application that enable multiple 3D object tracking for user interaction in AR environment is developed. The technique used is 3D markerless tracking where the application track natural features of the object target. After the tracking process is done, augmented object will appear and user can interact with the object by select and release the virtual object. In order to actualize the project's aim, AR environment will be developed using markerless 3D object tracking metaphor.
