The aim of this project is to produce the interaction between human and hexapod robot that is capable of controlling the hexapod robot using human head gestures. On each robot’s leg have two joints which driven by a servo motor. Overall design of robots and robot movement is inspired by the movement of a spider. Each servomotor is controlled by the PWM signal (pulse width modulation) which generated by the ATmega32 microcontroller. The project will focus on how to control hexapod robot with imitating of human head. Intel Desktop Atom Processor was used to interface the human head gestures and hexapod robot. Motivation for these investigations comes from both an interest to understand how the human head gesture controls complex motions, and by a need for reasonable motion prediction for a wide range of movement of hexapod robot. The medium of communication between hexapod robot, human head gestures and Intel Desktop Atom Processor was another concern on this project atiff UTM 112 p.
