Nor, supervisor Civil engineering Also available in printed version Underside Shaped Concrete Block (USCB) has groove patterns at the beneath surface to produce shear resistance and to grip onto the bedding soil layer. This study aims to investigate the effect of USCB towards shear resistance in arrangement of parallel to the load with various bedding soil thickness. It is also meant to explore the effect of USCB towards friction angle between block and bedding soil. This study used block of USCB-S15 with block dimension of 200 x 100 x 80 mm with 15 mm of grooves depth. The gap between each USCB-S15 is 2 - 5 mm and filled with jointing sand. There were three different loose bedding soil thickness and three different of normal stress applied on concrete blocks. The study has been conducted in Highway and Traffic Engineering Laboratory and Geotechnics Laboratory in Faculty of Civil Engineering. The study consists of several stages, USCB-S15 manufacturing process, compression test, sieve analysis, Atterberg limit, compaction test of soil and large shear box test. The findings of this study revealed that USCB-S15 with 70 mm thickness of loose bedding soil produced the highest value of shear resistance in arrangement of parallel to shear stress. Furthermore, the study also found that USCBS15 produced higher value of friction angle in range 21° to 22.1° compared to control block. There were several recommendations that have been proposed in this study for underside shaped concrete block in the future fahmimoksen UTM 93 p.
