Nor Muhammad Nasir Ibrahim, supervisor Electrical engineering Also available in printed version Currently, academic classrooms still use traditional marker pens and whiteboards to conduct lectures. Unfortunately, this method was not suitable for big classrooms due to large audience and blurry marker ink. Using a touch sensitive display to replace the traditional whiteboard is not a good approach since it will require large size sensor and expensive. The objective of this project is to transform an ordinary display panel into interactive tactile surface using computer vision technology. This method is found to be much economical and sustainable. The system tracks laser pointer light movement on surface panel. Then, every pixel of the captured image will be analysed. The brightest pixel coordinate will be determined as the user input to trigger computer event. The outcome of the project will allow simulating a virtual interactive whiteboard application directly on projection image using laser pointer to control computer application practical01 UTM 43 p.
