Therefore, this study aims to identify the accounting students� intention to pursue professional accounting qualification and factors influencing their intention. This study employs salary, subjective norms, self-efficacy, status of having professional qualifications, opportunities for advancement and job security and stability as the independent variables. Quantitative approach was used in this study and questionnaires were distributed to the accounting students in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Data were analysed using frequency, mean and Pearson correlation methods. The findings show that self-efficacy, subjective norms and job security and stability have the most significant impact on the intention of accounting students to pursue professional accounting qualifications. Meanwhile salary considered to have low correlations with students� decision in pursuing professional accounting qualifications. However, in general there are positive and significant relationship between all independent variables on the intention of accounting students in UTM to pursue professional accounting qualifications. fahmimoksen UTM 89 p.
