Landslide can cause damage to human life, property and environment. There are many methods that can be used to overcome this problem and one of the method is by using remote sensing and geographical information system (GIS) techniques. The main objective of this research is to produce a landslide susceptibility map for Padang Pariaman District, Indonesia. This research was conducted using several methods, namely Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), Frequency Ratio (FR), Weight of Evidence (WOE), Statistical Index (SI) and Logistic Regression (LR). This study was carried out using remote sensing data, field surveys and GIS tools. This study uses 11 factors that can influence landslide occurrence such as peak ground acceleration, elevation, slope aspect, slope angle, drainage density, lithology, lineament, soil texture, precipitation, land use/land cover and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). The Landslide Susceptibility Index (LSI) was calculated using the defined weight and rating of the magnitude at 7.8 up to 9.20 Richter scale whereas each method produced several landslide susceptibility maps based on the values of the index. Landslide susceptibility index values were divided into five (5) classes which are very high susceptibility, high susceptibilityy, moderate susceptibility, low susceptibility and very low susceptibilty zones. Based on the model results, the largest area for very high landslide susceptibility using AHP method is 20.55%; Meanwhile the results for other methods of WOE is 13:02%; FR is 9.67%; and SI and LR is 8.10%. These results were verified by using 14 existing locations of landslide. For the verification, the Area Under Curve (AUC) method was used where areas under the curve were calculated for the purpose of accuracy assessment. Verification was done by comparing the 89 locations of existing landslide with the landslide susceptibility map produced in this study. AUC shows method of FR produced the highest accuracy with 94.7% compared to other methods. The results of this study can be used to mitigate the landslide hazard and proper land use planning and construction in the future atiff UTM 371 p.
