| description | Safety compliance is crucial in the healthcare sector, particularly for healthcare professionals like Assistant Medical Officers (AMOs). This study aimed to investigate the relationship between personal appreciation of risk, management commitment, work environment and safety compliance among AMOs at Hospital Melaka. A cross-sectional survey design was employed in this study. A sample of 120 AMOs at Hospital Melaka participated in the study. Data was collected through a self-administered questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. Data analysis was performed using SPSS Version 29. Descriptive analysis was conducted to summarize the demographic characteristics of the respondents and to test the hypothesis, a correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis was performed. The study found a moderate positive correlation between management commitment, work environment, and safety compliance. While personal appreciation of risk showed a low positive correlation, it was not a significant predictor of safety compliance. In contrast, management commitment and work environment were significant predictors of safety compliance. By fostering personal appreciation of risk, strengthens management commitment and optimizes work environment, healthcare organizations can significantly enhance their safety compliance. This can lead to a reduction in the likelihood of accidents and incidents. The research findings provide valuable insights into the factors influencing safety compliance among healthcare professionals, which can inform the development and improvement of effective occupational health and safety policies within healthcare organizations. |
