| Summary: | This study was conducted to investigate the impact of job satisfaction on turnover intention among retail employees in a retail organization at Johor Baharu. Besides that, this study was also conducted to determine the level of job satisfaction, the level of turnover intention, as well as the most dominant job satisfaction dimension which influence turnover intention. Nine dimensions of job satisfaction has been investigated in this study namely pay, promotion, supervision, fringe benefits, contingent rewards, operating condition, co-workers, nature of work, and communication. This study’s sample consist of the population whereby a total of 123 retail employees have participated in this study. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the data. The findings revealed a moderate level of job satisfaction, as well as turnover intention. The correlation analysis shown a negative and significant relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention. The correlation analysis also indicate a negative and significant relationship between each of the nine dimensions of job satisfaction with turnover intention. This suggests that retail employees’ turnover intention can be influenced by their job satisfaction towards the nine dimensions. Based on regression analysis, it can be concluded that retail employees’ job satisfaction explain 15.8 percent of variance in turnover intention. Moreover multiple regression analysis found supervision dimension has the strongest impact on turnover intention compared to other dimensions. This implies that employees relationship with their supervisor, as well as their supervisor’s attention towards them, have the capacity to influence their turnover intention. Therefore this study recommends that organization specifically retail organization pay attention to all the nine dimensions of job satisfaction, in particular employer-supervisor relationship in order to improve and sustain employee’s job satisfaction, thereafter retaining them in the organzation.
